About Us

OSES is an American Heart Association training center established in 1996. We offer the full range of AHA courses at our offices and your facility. OSES has successfully trained providers throughout the United States and prides its instructor base as predominately master’s and doctoral-prepared educators. With our new generation of instructors onboarding, we are delighted and optimistic for the future of OSES in meeting the training needs of our region.

Our Team

Marie A. Wilks, DNP, RN-BC, AACCPresident/Training Center Coordinator Marie is the founding president of OSES, incorporating it in 1996. She has been involved in the development of this successful AHA training center (TC) for the past 29 years. She is the director for ACLS, PALS, NRP, and the occupational health programs offered through the TC. She was inducted into the American College of Cardiology as an associate and has specialized in cardiology for the past 30 years.
Marie received her Doctorate in Nursing from the University of Southern Indiana in Evansville, IN, and was acknowledged as the Director Emeriti from Rhode Island College. She has a Master’s in Nursing Education from the University of Rhode Island and received her bachelor’s degree from Rhode Island College and Bryant University. Her faculty role has included teaching nursing at the bachelors, masters, and doctoral levels.
Zachary K. Wilks, BSN, RNVice President and BLS Director Zachary is a registered nurse who has been teaching BLS in OSES for over seven years and has been the BLS Director for the past year. He has been involved in instructor training and instructor renewals and coordinates our occupational health program, including fit testing.
Zachary received his BSN from the Zvart Onanian School of Nursing at Rhode Island College. He is also a licensed dental anesthesia assistant and has worked with oral surgeons in Rhode Island.
Adam. F. Niedelman, MD, FACC, RPVIMedical Consultant Dr. Adam Niedelman is board certified in both cardiovascular medicine and internal medicine and has been practicing cardiology for 18 years. He also maintains board certification in nuclear cardiology and echocardiography and is a registered physician in vascular interpretation (RPVI). He has been a certified ACLS/BLS instructor with OSES since 2010.
Dr. Niedelman currently serves as the director of vascular medicine and physician site lead for the Hartford HealthCare Heart and Vascular Institute (East Region). He was a member of the Medical Scholars Program at the University of Delaware and attended Jefferson Medical College in Philadelphia, PA.
Dr. Niedelman completed both his residency and fellowship training at Brown University in Providence, RI. He resides in Southern Rhode Island and enjoys spending time with his wife Jill, dog Ovie, and three children.
Sheri Boucher, DNP, RN Sheri is a Registered Nurse Educator and full-time Associate Professor at Rhode Island College in the Zvart Onanian School of Nursing. Her specialty is Maternal Child Health and teaches clinical at Women & Infants Hospital. Originally employed at Women & Infants Hospital in 1998 she was hired as a bedside nurse into the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit until January 2024 when she transitioned into a per diem educator role in Professional Development. Sheri has been a Neonatal Resuscitation Program provider since 1998 and an NRP instructor since 2023. In addition to her civilian career, she served the United States Army since 1990. Her career spanned over 30 years with her retirement from the Air Force Reserves as the Assistant Chief Nurse Officer of the 439th Air Evacuation Squadron. Sheri was appointed Director of the Veteran’s Administration/RI College School of Nursing Academic Partnership Program. Sheri is a strong supporter of preceptors at the Veterans Administration in Providence, RI, focuses on veteran students and the veteran centricity of the SON.
Joy Delisle, MSN, RN, CCRN Joy joins Ocean State Educational Seminars, Inc. as an educator with 35 years of diverse healthcare experience. In addition to her experience as a Paramedic and EMT Instructor, she has also worked for 22 years in a Level 3 and Level 4 Neonatal intensive care unit, Emergency Room nurse and Educator in Professional Development. She has also worked as a supervisor and NICU Manager on both the east and west coasts. Most recently she has transitioned into a sales position for NICU Solutions to better patient outcomes while supporting family-centered care. She has taught the NRP program for 10 years and brings her expertise to our Training Center.
